Education and Experience
- Minimum required: Bachelor’s degree in a media-related field of study OR equivalent media production experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of media production experience
- Experience in the following software: Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, DaVinci Resolve, Celtx, Shot Designer, Final Draft, and EditShare Connect.
- Experience in Full Frame DSLR camera use and workflow
- Production equipment experience
- Experience in media server workflow, media asset management (mam) and maintenance
- Experience in lighting indoor and outdoor scenes

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Film or Media Production or equivalent experience. Four or more years of professional experience in digital media, television or film required. Master’s degree preferred.
Skill Set:
Must be proficient in reading, writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to design, build, operate and maintain a redundant teleprompting system. Skilled in most media production systems, mentoring and instructional is mandatory.
Authoring knowledge for electronic messaging and interactive instruction for DVD or web release is required.
Knowledge of video systems, database software, Internet programming software, media production software, streaming software, spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to manipulate file formats, convert media, and optimize file sizes and transfer speeds.
Licenses, Certifications, Registration: Current State of Hawaii driver’s license required. Registration in professional organizations such as BEA, SMPTE and other television/media organizations is highly desired.
KSL TV Production Technician (Full-Time) #3092
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible to run studio cameras, lighting equipment, teleprompter and act as stage manager for KSL Television productions as scheduled.
- Performs specific production technician assigned functions for KSL Television at a consistently high level of performance.
- Responsible for insuring the highest quality production values in all work performed.
- Responsible for setting up, cleaning and performing minor maintenance on sets and equipment in the news and production studios.
- Demonstrates cooperation to create the best on-air product. Take instruction from the directors and/or producers to obtain the best results. Offer suggestions for improvement of newscasts and other productions.
- Audio mixing, technical directing, editing and other production related needs.
KSL TV Studio Tech (Part-Time)
Operate studio cameras, equipment, teleprompter, and act as stage manager in a manner that provides KSL News Services and its viewers with a highly produced project from a technical and aesthetic perspective. We are looking for a self-starter who has high-energy and leadership skills. This person needs to be technically savvy in order to run the station’s live ENG truck.The job requires you to write, shoot and edit your own reports plus help other reporters with shooting and researching their stories. You will also produce content for our award winning website, localnews8.com. This job is not an on-air position.

• Maintaining a good knowledge of local events and issues.
• Seeking out newsworthy people and events.
• Representing the station with a good presence at public events.
• Rewriting and placing stories on the station website.
You will work with some of the highest digital technology in the market, including Sony XDCAM HD cameras, Velocity editors, ENPS and three live trucks.
Candidates had good communication skills. This job would be a good job to get your foot in the door experience.
This position will require you to carry a camera and all of its gear when covering a story and there is a possibility you may work weekends and holidays.
